Group of Optoelectronics and Spintronics

Welcome to the Homepage of Research Group of Optoelectronics and Spintronics (RGOS) of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. The RGOS is supervised by Prof. José Holanda da Silva Júnior (known as Prof. José Holanda). The group was founded in 2022 and so far has made the following discoveries: 1 - first observation of the magnetic interfacial effect between a paramagnetic/non-collinear antiferromagnetic bilayer; 2 - showed for the first time the spin current hermiticity; 3 - defined the states of magnetization and demagnetization of magneto-optical interactions.

Research lines

Spintronics

We study phenomena related to electron spin and develop devices based on these phenomena.

Optoelectronics

We study phenomena related to the interaction of light with magnetic matter, seeking the development of magneto-optical devices.

Metrology and Instrumentation

We carry out the development of new instruments and devices targeting the industrial sector.

Renewable energy

We study new sources of energy derived from nature.
